A Dinner to DIE for....

Halloween is always a fun time for us and it usually consists of a party. So to celebrate Halloween 2014 we hosted a murder mystery dinner! So hilarious to see everyone get into character during a three course meal. Who knew we had such good actors in our group? Thanks to the Stuart's for allowing us to have the dinner in their office space it turned out to be a perfect location for our mystery to take place. To give a little background on our evening let me type in our mystery synopsis for the dinner party.

The Anonville Manor closed for business years ago due to increasing rumors of eerie hauntings by ill- mannered spirits. A mysterious entrepreneur recently purchased the old hotel, renovated it, and announced that the Manor was free of ghosts and had been restored to the pristine caliber of the good ole’ days when the Manor was the focus of entertainment for everyone. The new owner, choosing to remain anonymous, invited a random group of townspeople to a special pre-grand opening dinner party in the Majestic Ballroom of the hotel. The guests arrived – all curious as to why they were selected to be part of this eclectic group of party guests. Ignoring the mysterious events that brought them to the Manor, the guests decided to settle in and enjoy the party. During the cocktail hour, the guests mingled and got to know each other. The owner, still remaining a mystery, had a delicious dinner served to the guests while in small groups; they underwent a challenging ‘Mystery Scramble’ competition. Then, to everyone’s horror, a dead body that had been murdered in another room of the hotel was delivered to the ballroom! The guests rallied together in an intense investigation to figure out whodunit, the location of the crime, the motive, and murder weapon! The guests took turns accusing who they believed whodunit and their location, motive and weapon in front of the group. Then, one by one, the guests unveiled their involvement, if any, with the murder and to everyone’s shock...the murderer confessed! The guests topped off their exciting night of sleuthing with a final ‘Mysterious Charade Challenge.’ Overall, the night was an exciting, competitive and challenging success! The Anonville Manor should prove to be an overwhelming success with the Anonville townspeople and tourist alike this time around...as long as the ghosts behave, that is.

The date was set for October 24th and invites were sent out to a select group of people.

Before the day of the event there were some interesting conversations amongst some of our guests. Motive maybe? (pretty funny actually).

The day of the event arrived and preparations were made for a "Killer" evening.

There was some foul play during the main course...Here is the murder scene....bad news for one of our guests. So many suspects, who could have done it? Let me introduce you to our dinner guests and tell you a little about each of them.  You can come to your own conclusion as to WhoDunit!

                                                 Professor Alberta Newton, Biology Professor
The beautiful Alberta Newton is the penultimate absent minded professor. Inquire about science and she’ll blow you away with her intellect, inquire about anything else, well...she’s an average Jane.

                                                                     Sam Chawpalot, Butcher
If you looked up narcissism in the dictionary, Sam Chawpalot’s picture would be plastered by the description. Sam is the friendly self-loving neighborhood butcher with a slight over-exaggeration problem.

                                                                 London Wilton, Heiress
London Wilton is new to Anonville as she is visiting the town to determine where to build her next extravagant hotel. Everyone is growing tired of the media exposing London Wilton’s troubles...especially the townspeople of Anonville! Egotistical & spoiled are the two words that sum up this wild child!

                                                       Dr. Doctor Dijon, Neurosurgeon
Is there a doctor in the house? Yes, of course! It’s Dr. Doctor Dijon! He’s the one to tell you to eat an apple a day...except it won’t keep him far away as he’s only 3 inches from your face when he’s speaking to you! This close-talking behavior is surprising since the good doc has an intense fear of germs!

Ms. Shugga Ann Flower, Pastry Chef
Oh, the delicacies that this sweet baker can create! Ms. Shugga Ann Flower is the finest pastry chef in all of Anonville! When she bakes, the sugary aroma travels to the edges of town. The townspeople flock to her bakery to get a bite of her ‘tasties!’

                                                           Mayor Paul A. Tisshon, Mayor
There are two sides to Mayor Paul A. Tisshon...and only one of them you would ever care to be on! If you have something to offer Paul, he’s the nicest man you’ll ever meet. However, if you cross him, his mean spirits will rise to the occasion to greet you.

                                                          Miss Rita Bookaday, Librarian
Miss Rita Bookaday is not your typical librarian! She’s silly, young, and broke with an aura of mischief surrounding her. Rita is rather unpredictable... that is, unless she’s offering you a helping hand at the local library.

                                                                 Alby Stitchin, Tailor
Ouch! Well, that is what most of Alby Stitchin’s customers are saying nowadays, anyway! This clumsy chap bit off more than he could chew when he decided to be a tailor as he has a huge problem of turning his clients into unwilling pin cushions!

                                                                Cougar Forest, Golfer
Cougar Forest is a tiger on the golf course, but in person, he’s just a mere kitten. He’s shy and reserved but Cougar’s Spanish accent is more than enough to win over the ladies...that is, until he does one of his annoying yet infamous cougar impersonations.

                                                       Principal Amethyst, High School Principal
Is it Principal Amethyst or Principal Loony? Well, the latter is what the kids not so lovingly nicknamed her at Anonville High school behind her back. Teens beware: rumor has it that not everyone that gets sent to Principal Amethyst’s office makes it back to class...ever again!

                                                            Chief C.R. Badges, Police Officer
You would never guess that such a meager self-questioning man could climb his way into such a high ranking position with the police force! Chief C.R. Badges is a kind-hearted gentleman who swore to serve & protect, but sometimes he finds it difficult to do so with a self esteem approaching absolute zero!

Many dark secrets are within this group of people. No one can be trusted! Really, just look at all these suspicious faces.

Seriously what a fun night! Thanks to all who joined us and for making it a memorable evening. I hope to be able to do it again. And no I will not spoil the ending....you'll just have to play with us next time.
